Inspiration Board: Uncomplicated

I love my neutrals, I'm beige (ha ha). The best way for me to incorporate color into my life is by one color at a time. The whole blocking trend threw me for a loop and so took me out of my comfort zone. Besides it's easier to get dress in the morning when you know you'll just be wearing 2 colors all day. This berry color blouse is gorgeous and I think I've all ready posted the emerald version in my last inspiration board.

Living in So Cal. I'm all for wearing shorts in the fall. A pair of tights is a must, unless you don't mind the goosebumps on you legs all day, that's such a great look when your legs are turning blue and you have old ladies shaking their heads at you. I can say that with experience behind me. To balance out the shorts and kitty heels, I would wear a sweater to cover up my arms.  I like the classic look of this cardigan, something you can hold on to for a few seasons and be able to wear with your fave jeans, and midi skirts.

I'm a large tote kind of gal. Anything I carry has to be large enough for anything and everything. If you are a mom or just take care of little ones, you know you need a large carry all. I always made fun of the moms that look like bag ladies with 3+ totes. I just love the "what's in my bag" and they only have 5 items in there. I wish that I can cut down like that. I'm in the large percentage of the population that carries the 12 pounds of stuff around. This one looks ideal, in the structure and sturdiness plus the extra pockets are always a bonus.

Lately my choice in costume jewelry has been leaning towards brass, nature inspired, and rings with large stones on them. I think these pieces are modern with a nod to vintage. I've recently picked up a brass locket that I've been wearing none stop. I'll share soon (cross my heart).

Thanks for reading and leaving comments. I love and appreciate every one of them.

Fall's Lusty List

Fall's Lust Must

Haute Hippie silk blouse

Rick Owens shearling jacket
$3,340 - net-a-porter.com

ChloƩ wide leg pants
$675 - barneys.com

Aldo shoes
$120 - aldoshoes.com

Miss Selfridge leather tote

Roberto Cavalli chain necklace
$1,195 - net-a-porter.com

Quartz earrings
£80 - austique.co.uk

Quartz ring
$750 - trocadero.com
I know that this set is a big change from the norm (price wise). I wanted to get out a lusty list, these are the styles I'll be looking for to fill up my Fall wardrobe. When I find wallet friendly versions, you will be the first to know.

1. A faux fur or shearling lined motorcycle jacket.
If you are looking for the one coat that you will use through out the season regardless of occasions, this one would be it. It can be worn with dresses, shorts with tights, jeans- skinny or wide leg, and skirts of any length.

2. Jewel tone blouse.
It doesn't matter what color in particular. What is important is the richness of color to break away from the norm.

3. High waisted wide leg slacks.
Year after year, this style keeps coming back. The best fit is when it just grazes off of your body and elongates your legs. Best worn with heels.

4. Warm jewelry.
The stone of the season? Smokey topaz. I think the attraction has to do with our fascination of restoring and maintaining pieces from long ago. The smokey topaz has that vintage quality that we love, and know that it will eventually be an heirloom piece to pass down to generations to come.
Collar or choker statement necklaces are the neckline adornment that will be big for this season. Worn with the jewel tone blouse, it's the icing on the cake.

5. Structured Handbag in Burgundy
When it comes to handbags and shoes, that is where quality over price wins hands down. These items are investment pieces. Burgundy is the color to chose instead of the greens. Green has the tendency to be eye catching, but can show age (as in that was last season style). Burgundy will hold up, just like browns and blacks year after year without skipping a beat.

6. Wedged oxfords
Wedged or heeled, oxfords have been feminized. Black, brown, two-toned, glittered, be jeweled. I have seen so many. For the past few seasons I have seen the incline of this style of shoe. I think this is the year it hits it's pentacle, as it covers up your little toes and shelters them from the cold. From cut-off shorts with tights, to the midi skirts of Fall, this shoe will be your work horse.

I received my coat in the post yesterday and I can't wait for the weather to change so I can debut it for you. FYI- the coat has a cute lace trim at the end of the sleeves that are barely noticeable, but still a cute detail. In the mean time I had put together a set to show one of the many ways I would wear it. For my go-to, everyday wear this outfit would be it. I love the layers, and living in So. Cal it's almost mandatory to wear a coat, sweater, and tank during our colder seasons. You just never know what you'll be doing, and what the central air will be like inside the stores :) I had chosen items that are basic and that every girl must own some version of. The fringe handbag and the spiky bracelet are my favorites that I don't all ready own but will diffidently be keeping an eye out for.

I will always grab my go to jeans. It's almost like wearing a security blanket. You know that you'll look good and be comfortable at the same time. So when you are desperately trying to find something to wear, that doesn't look like you've tried too hard- build your look around your favorite pair of denims. That is the exact thing that I did to put this look together.

Right now I'm in the mood for a little bit of doom and gloom and the accessories truly reflect that. I love this take of a classic cameo, and the earthy element of a glittery stone in a pitch black setting in the bracelet. What girl doesn't love a little gold, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add in a little animal print in the shoes and the reptile look in the clutch.
