Outfit of the Day: Golden

Here is the jumpsuit I purchased a couple of weeks ago. I'm so in love with it I want to wear it everyday. I keep looking at this photo and thinking something is off. I give it a B+, if that. I originally bought it to wear to the park this weekend, but I think I'm going to go with the tried and true, denim blue. Ha ha, I just realized that I have my rubber band around my wrist. This plastic handbag was purchased at my local H&M store, it's a throw back to the eighties.

When I was little I had one in a pearlized purple, pink, and white. Yeah you could have caught me wearing my pink Member's Only like jacket and sport a purse like this. I asked my mom what I use to carry in my purses. Stickers, a notebook, pencils, my Little Ponies and my pink Jordache wallet. Things haven't changed much, I'm only missing the Little Ponies these days and the wallet isn't Jordache anymore.

True Loves

Good Morning! I hope that each and every one of you had a wonderful holiday weekend. My time was well spent with family, watching Nascar and good food. Starting today I have a few goals I want to reach.

1. At least 30 minutes of exercise a day

2.  Post an outfit everyday

3. To not buy any clothing, shoes, or jewelry
( at least for awhile)

4. No fast food for the week

I figured that it if I can get through this week and really commit, then it won't be too bad to continue in the future. So, wish me luck.

Ringer

I am a self proclaim t.v. addict. I love everything about it. Little stories shown in a fast paced, perfectly packaged and hand delivered entertainment in my very home. There is a story told that a friend of my mom's picked me up after school and I told her of a film I saw the night before. That may not seem unusual, but have you ever heard a little girl tell you about the movie and all the commercials in between? I feel the same way about commercials being 30 seconds shorts to make you feel emotionally invested in a product. Come on, how many times have you surprised yourself in tearing up watching a phone commercial? Do you know how bad I have it? Remember the movie Cable Guy with Jim Carrey? I can totally relate to him :)

With all that being said, I'm looking forward to this new show coming out in the fall on the CW called Ringer. It stars Sarah- Michelle Gellar playing a twin that takes over her sister's life. Twisted, right? Below is the trailer.

Not only was the trailer intriguing I was sold on it because they used the Nine Inch Nails song "Right Where It Belongs".

Right Where It Belongs Lyrics

See the animal in his cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye,
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?

See the safety of the life you have built
Everything where it belongs
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart,
And it's all... Right Where it belongs

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know
Is an elaborate dream?

And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks,
Would you find yourself...find yourself afraid to see?

What if all the world's inside of your head?
Just creations of your own
Your devils and your gods all the living and the dead
And you really oughta know

You can live in this illusion
You can choose to believe

You keep looking but you can't find the woods,
Are you hiding in the trees?

What if everything around you,
Isn't quite as it seems?

What if all the world you used to know,
Is an elaborate dream?

And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks,
Would you find yourself...find yourself afraid to see?

I haven't really been excited about a show lately and I think it's showing with me watching past shows on Netflix. As many seasoned actors on Ringer, I have high hopes that this will be one I will look forward to week after week.

We Use To Be Friends

Why is it that I've never seen a Veronica Mars episode before? I've been making good on using our Netflix subscription. This is the theme song to the show. Usually watching episodes back to back I'll mute the beginning of the shows but not this one. It actually makes me want to listen to it all the way through. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am these days.

My Shopping List

O.k. dolls and gents. Everyone has a wish list or should I say shopping list. This is mine. As with someone who has an addiction to clothes, shoes and handbags this is a running list of things I want. Everything is under my price point of $50.00 per item .
Satchel Handbag
DorothyPerkins.com
I think it's high time to reintroduce a color handbag into my arsenal. This corally- orange one is yummy and I love the bronze hardware.

 Heart Shape Sunnies

GoJane.com

I should have put a pair of Wayfarer on here too, but they are a bit pricey for me.

 Wedges

Lulus.com
These I found through Lulus.com. I would so wear them with pedal pushers and throw off that 50's bombshell vibe.

 Grosgrain Ribbon Floppy

UrbanOutfitters
A girl can't have too many of these this season.

 Crochet Dress

DorothyPerkins.com
A crochet dress fits the bohemian in me just find, thank you very much :)

 Pleated Skirt

 Lulus.com
 Kimono Shrug

 asos.com

 Bead Bracelet

Beaded Navajo Bracelet
This totally fits my boho esthetic and would be a daily wear for me.

Check back frequently as this list will always be updated. I'll set a link to this post on the right hand side of the page.

The Man In Black

I heard this song this morning and had to share it. It's one of my favorite Cash songs, gosh there's so many.

Mini F21 Haul

Color Faded Denim Cutoffs, Light Pink - $10.50

I have been crushing on pink shorts for a while and I'm loving the fray hem on these. I just picked up a pair at my local store. They have storage drawers on display now like VS so I had to take a peek in them. I'm so excited to wear these with my blouses, grey sweatshirts and box tees.

 Wide Leatherette Belt- $8.80

I'm wearing this belt today along with my tie-dye maxi. It's also available in black. At this price I should have bought it too.

 Thin Braided Belt- $3.80

I have been looking for a pink belt to wear with this romper seen here. This one fits the bill.

Rabbit Ring $5.80

  Pyramid Stud Ring Set- $4.80

I can't walk away from that place with out picking up some jewelry pieces. The trio set looks better in person as it has a high reflective quality. I bought the bunny ring just because.

So the shorts are something to cross off or put a check mark next to. You know I've been teasing about making such list and I really should have a running one on a side column. Sounds good to me :)

Outfit of the Day: Tie-Dye Me Up

I am so in love with this reverse tie-dye dress. I wear it at least twice a month and I can't believe it's taken me so long to show you guys. So sorry for the slanted pictures. I guess I was trying to create some drama, ha ha.

 What I'm Wearing:

1. Reverse Tie-Dye Maxi Dress- Ross

2. Leather Corset Belt- Forever21

3. Black Canvas Wood Heel Shoes- Soda

In a Little While

This song has been playing in my head every morning for the past few days when I wake up. When I first purchased this album I wasn't too fond of it. Like most music the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you. I think that's when you know it's good and will last. Something that you will continue to listen to when you're our parents age.

Luchador Series

Lucha libre in spanish means free wrestling, as the wrestlers are known as Luchadors. The use of a mask originated in 1942 by way of a silver masked wrestler named El Santo (The Saint). Through the mystique he became a symbol of justice for the common man.

These three prints are part of a nine set series. They are done on archival quality paper that measures
18" x 24". They can be purchase through scribbleoneverything.com for $30.00 each.

El Tigre is my favorite, now I'm just trying to figure out where I want to hang it- if I get it (:

Legend

I don't know why I waited so long to share this one with you. This is one of my favorite films growing up. It's a dark fairytale of good verses evil- full of elves, fairies, unicorns, goblins, demons, a princess and a forest dweller. It stars Tom Cruise, Mia Sara and Tim Curry. Released in 1985 by director Ridley Scott. The premise of the story is that the good woodland creatures must save the unicorns because they are the guardians of light and an evil demon wants eternal darkness to reign. Visually beautiful in creating a world we only read about in books.

Will be released in Blu-ray May 31, 2011

NOTD: I Want to Be a Misfit

If you were a little girl in the 80's you would have seen the girl cartoon "Jem".  The Misfits were her nemesis on stage and off. Reading the plot to the cartoon now seems so silly that I'm surprised that it ran for 3 years in full syndication. I loved everything about the show at the time, who didn't grow up wanting to be a rock star?

I was first inspired to take out my Konad set when I saw a blogger use hers for a Lisa Frank inspiration nails, seen here. Her nails turned out super cute, but since I had to trim mine I just went with one color. I came up with this and it totally reminded me of the days when I wanted to be a punk rocker. I had used two coats on Pink Promenade (seen here), Konad plate - m57, and the black mini polish from Konad.

"KONAD Stamping Nail Art is a new nail-imprinting kit that lets you put designs by stamping pre-designed images on your nails in minutes." -quote taken from site

Each plate comes with multiple designs priced at $6.50. They recommend using their polish to use because of the high pigmentation. I have tried using my regular polishes with the set and wasn't happy with the result it was just too light.  The mini polish bottles (5ml) come in 30 colors for $3.90 each and the large size (10ml) in 39 colors for $6.50 each. For the stamp and scraper start at $4.50. I had customized my set, it includes a stamp, scraper, one plate of my choosing and 2 mini polishes for $18.90.

I had bought my Konad set directly from their site and it took a week to get my product from over seas. You may now buy Konad through Amazon.com and I know that people have also used eBay. It's a fun and easy way to add designs to your nails

Outfit of the Day: Spring in My Step

 Happy Friday Everyone!

So today I felt like wearing something sweet and springy. This would be something I would wear with the heart sunnies I so want to get.  I also think this would look really good with these shoes I've been crushing on for a year. Yes, I know they look like nursing shoes, but I think they are adorable.

 What I'm Wearing:

1. Denim Jacket- INC

2. Striped Tube Top- Ross

3. Blue Midi Skirt- Local Boutique

4. Leopard Pumps- Qupid

5. Glitter Wallet/Clutch- Forever21

Heart Shape Glasses

I have been eying these sunnies for a few years now, ever since I saw the video of Marilyn Manson's, "Heart -Shaped Glasses".

I think it screams 80's retro. I would love to wear these with sweet summer dresses, or an outfit of shorts and a blouse (like the one seen here). As inexpensive they are going for right now I can own them in every color. Here are a few that I've seen around the web.

1.Quay Eyewear Australia- Heart Sunglasses in Gold $26.00

2. The Extras- Wild Heart Glasses $10.00

Eye Heart You Sunglasses Red/Pink/White- ea. $5.00

Solid Color Heart Shape Sunglasses Black/Pink/Green/Purple/Fuchsia/Red/White/Yellow- ea. $3.80

Harajuku Lovers Sweetie Review

I am absolutely ecstatic to review the Harajuku Lovers Girls Sweetie Crossbody in Geisha Girls.
I bought it through Zappos.com on Friday the 13th of May. During the weekend Zappos had sent me an email update that they were upgrading my shipping for free! Whoo hoo, that meant that I was able to expect it to be on my door step the following Monday. My lovely UPS man came by early evening of that day. One of these days I have to learn his name, considering I see him about once to twice a week. Adam and I keep him pretty busy.
Ha ha, Adam saw the box and he almost bitched me out for buying another pair of shoes. A new hand bag is just one step up from that (: I wonder why they sent it in a shoe box anyway, it's a flat item. Oh well it's not my job to save them money.

It's everything that I hoped it would be. It measures 10.25"w x 3.5"d x 11"h with an inside zipper pocket  and an outer pocket that fastens with a heart shape velcro. This will be so perfect for my outings to amusement parks this summer. It's big enough to hold all my necessary goods and keep my hands free. With it having a zipper closer I know my stuff will stay inside as I'm swinging or hanging upside down on rides.

You may see the original post that I featured this item here. If you are interested in one similar to this you may purchase it through Zappos.com.

O.N.E.

Good Morning lovies! This song is perfect as I'm daydreaming of the warmer weather to come. Recently we've had rain showers and a constant of about the mid-60's. For now it's back to tights, pants, sweaters and coats. Hope you guys have a fantastic morning to your Thursday. Yay, one more day till the weekend!

Pick of the Day: Vintage Bib Necklace

I found this necklace through Forever21. Are you over that place yet? How many sites get updates on their goods multiply times a day? This bib necklace is so dreamy with the 20's feel or lets go further back to Egypt were this type of necklace originated from. I would feel like a princess wearing this. I can't get over the mix tones in metals, the chain of rhinestones or the pale pink beads used. Listed price is $7.80

Off to the DMV

So I was at the DMV yesterday to take care of some business. If you are anything like me you are scouting the crowd, people watching. I just love the wide variety of people, from the elderly to the teens and sometimes you get toddlers running around.

I was able to squeeze in an extra hour of sleep in the morning before we headed off. If I'm going anywhere with Adam and time is of the essence I try to plan ahead on what I'm wearing for the day. All I need is for him to bitch that I'm taking too long and have him see all the clothes I have in the closet. It's one thing knowing that packages and store bags come in and it's another thing to see it all together in your face.

So the night before I had planned on wearing my fleece black peacoat, Paramore t-shirt, skinny jeans and my brown mid length boots. Really nothing that great and a little boyish. I was looking to be comfortable and warm. If I knew I was going to be waiting outside for twenty minutes I would have layered a hoodie with the outfit too.

1. Black Fleece Peacoat- Forever21
2. Paramore T-Shirt- Hottopic
3. Skinny Dark Denim Jeans- Forever21
4. Brown Mid-Calf Boots- Charlotte Russe

Since I was dressed for comfort I wanted to know who dresses up for the DMV. To my surprise, no one does. Granted, you do get the individuals that look like they will be heading off to work later. It's the business uniform of all grays and sensible shoes. I found it was the teens coming in to apply for a driver's license that were the most interesting to look at. In it's self it was a uniform of sorts. A sweatshirt, hoodie, or knit sweater with skinny jeans and a pair of Uggs or similar boot.

1. Zip up Hoodie- Hollister
2. Skinny Dark Denim Jeans- Forever21
3. Classic Tall Boot- UGG

I guess it's something to be said about dressing for comfort knowing that you'll be on your feet for hours  on a cold and rainy day.

Hey Homies!

Good morning! I thought I start off the day with one of my all time sing-a-long songs. It's just so damn catchy and makes me smile every time I hear it. I wish you all a wonder filled middle of the week.

Garbo Hat

So I have been searching far and wide to find out what type of hats were featured in the Gucci Fall runway. They are called the Garbo Hat. Now the question is when will I be able to get a hold of one.

Outfit of the Day: Bygone Era

I have been seeing a lot of fashionable people out there wearing blouses with short shorts. I think it's a great way to be semi-conservative while being able to show off your summer tan legs. It also gives you the opportunity to wear your work blouses on the weekends.

I am wearing one of my favorite blouses. It's a cream chiffon with a 60's astro print, in a western cut. Sounds like it has an identity crisis, doesn't it? I don't normally buy anything in linen, but it is a nice light material to wear during hot summer days. These navy shorts are linen with a stretch fold over waist band. You will be seeing a lot of my Dany shoes, I'm giving you fair warning (: I would also wear my gold flats with this outfit, if I plan on walking a lot that day. In a past post I was talking about my affinity with Puma handbags. This cream patent one was a gift to myself. I was looking for a large light color handbag that I can use for work and on the weekends. Even though it's a "sports bag", I thought with the classic silhouette and faux leather material that it would work with my more conservative work outfits.

What I'm wearing:

1. Cream Chiffon Top- Forever21
2. Navy Linen Fold Over Shorts- Forever21
3. Dany, Jessica Simpson shoes- Zappos.com
4. Puma Cream Patent Handbag- Nordstrom
5. Rings & Necklace- Forever21
6. Wood Bangle- Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry

Where I Bought My Dany

I thought I would make it easy and set up a link for you to Zappos.com to purchase a pair of Danys of your very own for $98.00. You may click of the photo on the top right hand column to get you there.
